I have advised and appeared in many contested matters in jurisdictions ranging from the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia (formerly the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia), the Family Court of Australia, and the High Court of Australia, as well as state Tribunals such as the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (formerly the Administrative Decisions Tribunal) and the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal. I have also more recently been appearing before the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority.

Since returning to practice as a solicitor in October 2012, some of the cases I have appeared in as a solicitor advocate include:

  • Appeal in the Full Federal Court heard on 4 August 2016, determined on 18 October 2016: Trustee for The MTGI Trust v Johnston [2016] FCAFC 140.
  • Supreme Court Common Law Duty Judge application for short service of urgent proceedings in Stuart v O’Connor as Acting Secretary of the Department of Justice and State of New South Wales on 29 July 2016.
  • Multiple pleas for licensees and approved managers of licensed premises in relation to offences under the Liquor Act and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act in the Local Court.
  • Application for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court from an decision of the Appeal Panel of NCAT in relation to a retail lease matter: Pyrmont Point Pty Ltd v Westacott [2015] NSWSC 783 (18 June 2015).
  • Retail lease matters in the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (formerly the Administrative Decisions Tribunal):
